As a Plan Administrator, you can access your organization’s Employee Payroll Deduction file for the current month through the Sterling platform.
This file provides a detailed breakdown of employer and employee premium deductions for each benefit line across all employees, including:
Employee deductions — the amounts withheld from each employee’s pay
Employer contributions — the amounts the employer is responsible for paying
Employee deduction amounts are calculated based on the payroll frequency provided to us when the plan was set up, so the amounts in the file reflect your organization’s payroll schedule. If your payroll frequency has changed, please notify us.

Accessing the Employee Payroll Deductions file:
- Navigate to the Documents tab
- Change the Access dropdown menu from "All Users" to "SCB and Client Admins Only"
- Note: This dropdown is only visible to Admin users. If you do not see this option, your account does not have administrator access and you will only see "All Users."
- Locate the Employee Payroll Deductions report
- Click the download icon; the file will be emailed to you
